I. List of Campus police duties:

1. Supervises sworn police officers and non-sworn department employees.
2. Assists in developing and managing annual budget, including general funds, equipment, grants, and other programs and projects.
3. Acts as Incident Commander during police operations in the absence of the Director of Police and Safety Services
4. Compiles information and data in order to prepare a wide variety of reports, including those for various governmental agencies on county, state and federal levels.
5. Assures compliance with all applicable College, criminal justice systems, county, state and federal policies, codes and laws.
6. Leads a Division within the department, either Operations or Administration, and is responsible for all job functions within the Department.
7. Develops effective patrol response to identify crime patterns, trends and activities.
8. Monitors potential changes and recommends modification to policies and procedures as needed.
9. Provides for security planning for large gatherings, assemblies or athletic events.
10. Conduct investigations of complex campus crimes and coordinate criminal investigations with the District Attorney’s Office, Probation and Parole Departments as well as all other criminal justice agencies.
11. Receives incident reports for follow-up investigation to include contacting witnesses, victims, and suspects for interview and /or interrogation.
12. Prepares and presents to the court requests for search and arrest warrants.
13. Serves search and arrest warrants.
14. Acts as watch commander during assigned shifts.
15. Investigates service complaints and recommends appropriate remedial action.
16. Develops, evaluates, and manages projects. Assigns tasks to others in order to complete each project.
17. May serve as the direct liaison with local law enforcement agencies.
18. Implements College, Departmental, Divisional, and Unit goals and policies.

  1. At least five years experience as a law enforcement is required for the Police Officer III level and at least 4 years experience as a correctional officer or security officer is required for  Police Officer II level.
  2. High school diploma or GED.
