I. List of Traffic police duties:

  17. Prepare reports of arrests made, investigations conducted, and illegal incidents observed.

  19. Administer first aid and give assistance to the injured.
  20. Observe children and encourage children to obey safety rules.
  21. Respond to questions, concerns, and requests for service from the general public.

II. List of Traffic police qualifications

  1. Current Valid Drivers license with two or less moving violations in the last 36 months, and no major driving infractions.
  2. Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  3. Strong customer service mentality and proven track record of customer service success
  4. Prior experience in Traffic Control Services or Utility or Construction Industry preferred
  5. Capable of standing and holding a STOP/SLOW sign for up to 8 hours in a day.
  6. A minimum of one (1) year employment as a full-time paid Peace Officer with a P.O.S.T. approved California Law enforcement agency is required.
  7. Graduation from college or junior college is preferred. Education equivalent to graduation from high school is qualifying.
  8. Possession of a valid Class C California State Driver''s License is required.
  9. Possession of a valid California P.O.S.T. Basic Certificate is required.
  10. Must be at least 21 years of age at time of appointment.
  11. Must be free of felony or serious misdemeanor convictions.
