I. List of Police superintendent duties:

      1.            Investigates traffic related situations and implements improvements measure as the result of requests, complaints, inquiries and bureau initiated activities.

  10.            Conducts traffic engineering studies including traffic counts, speed surveys, parking studies and capacity analyses.
  11.            Attends City Council and City Planning Commission meetings
  12.            Provide quality and effective customer service with courtesy and understanding to our customers, citizens and internal departments.
  13.            Performs related work as may be required, in addition to special projects and assignments as needed.

II. List of Police superintendent qualifications

      1.            Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Traffic Engineering or closely related field
      2.            Four to seven year of professional level experience in Traffic Engineering including
      3.            significant supervisory responsibilities
      4.            Pennsylvania Licensed Professional Engineer preferred
      5.            Equivalent combination of related education and experience.
      6.            Knowledge of traffic engineering principles and practices and construction and maintenance practices.
      7.            Knowledge of traffic laws and regulations relating to traffic control
      8.            Knowledge of the operations of electrical traffic control devices
      9.            Knowledge of current literature and research in the field of traffic engineering
  10.            Ability to direct the work of a staff of technical, trade and laboring personnel
  11.            Ability to evaluate technical traffic engineering information and statistics and to arrive at valid decision on the basis of such data
  12.            Ability to present ideas and reports effectively, orally and in writing
