I. List of Police patrol officer duties:
      1.            Patrolling park areas and facilities by foot or motorized vehicles as assigned.
      2.            Enforcing all park rules and regulations, state laws and federal laws.
      3.            Inspecting all assigned facilities and areas to ensure the safety of all patrons.
      4.            Assisting with all administrative functions of the Police Department.
      5.            Guiding and directing park patrons in their use of the park areas.
      6.            Completing all criminal and non-criminal park police reports.

II. List of Police patrol officer qualifications

  1. Must be a citizen of the United States.
  2. Must be at least 21 years of age.
  3. Must hold a high school diploma or a general education development certificate (GED).
  4. Must currently be licensed as peace officer by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education.
  5. A minimum of five (5) years experience as a licensed peace officer with a larger Texas municipal or county agency is preferred.
  6. Commission shall have never denied or revoked a license by final order.
  7. License cannot currently be on suspension.
  8. A surrender of license cannot be currently in effect.
  9. Must not have received less than an Honorable Discharge from any agency where applicant was previously employed under a license issued by the Commission.
  10. Must not have violated any commission rule or provision of the Texas Occupation Code Chapter 1701.
  11. Must not have resigned or retired from previous agency while under investigation.
  12. If prior military, must not have received less than an Honorable Discharge (copy of DD-214 required).
  13. Parker Police Department provides services 24/7. Applicant must be able to work any shift, to include weekends and holidays. Currently the department works 12 hour patrol shifts.
  14. Must hold a valid Texas Driver’s License with a clear driving history for the past two years.
